Disc Decompression
Spinal decompression is a type of traction therapy employed to remove back, leg, arm, or neck pain by removing pressure on the spinal disc. By distracting--pulling apart--and then relaxing the discs in the spinal column, material that has protruded or herniated outside is allowed to be drawn back in. Additionally, the distraction and relaxation stimulates an increase in blood flow, which accelerates the healing process, resulting in pain reduction. You may view an exciting video which describes more fully the lumbar cervical compression therapy by clicking here. Note: if you have cable or DSL, the download time will be about 15 seconds. If you have dial-up, the wait could be as long as two minutes. JA February 2005
